Representative George Moraitis is a partner with the law firm of Moraitis, Cofar, Karney, & Moraitis, where he practices primarily in the areas of real estate, probate, and estate planning.
Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, George is a graduate of Fort Lauderdale High School and the United States Naval Academy. After serving seven years on active duty as a submarine officer in the United States Navy, George attended the University of Florida's College of Law where he graduated at the top of his class and then followed his father, George, Sr., into the practice of law.
In November, 2010, George was elected as a State Representative. He currently represents District 93, that includes most of northeast Broward County. George proudly serves as Vice Chair of the Transportation & Economic Development Appropriations Subcommittee and Vice Chair of the Local Government Affairs Subcommittee. He also serves on the Appropriations Committee, and Civil Justice Subcommittee.
George has been recognized for his effective work in the state legislature on behalf of our community, including the 2013 Florida Bar Distinguished Legislator Award, the 2013 and 2014 Florida League of Cities and the Broward League of Cities Legislative Appreciation Award, and an "A" rating from the Florida Chamber of Commerce.
George has been married to his wife Heather for 21 years. They have two daughters, Alexis and Catherine. The Moraitis family attends Cross Community Church. George has previously served on the School Board at Westminster Academy.
